Vickie, affectionately known as the boss, is the co-owner of Mireworks alongside her husband Blake. Vickie has a large and diverse understanding of the design industry. She began her career at Hunt Windows in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as a Marvin Windows distributor then moved from Hunt Windows to Highland Cabinets and Mill-works where she worked on cabinet estimating and design. After many years of industry work she formed Mireworks, LLC in 2006 with her husband. Since then she has used her vast expertise to help clients increase the functionality, aesthetic appeal and overall enjoyment of their homes. Most of her clients become good friends as her personality is very inviting and amiable. Her designs reflect her passion and her understanding of the clients/friends she serves. Not only is she experienced, Vickie is 1 of only 4 Nationally Certified Kitchen and Bath Designers in the state of Louisiana through the NKBA, and a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist through the NAHB. Both certifications require numerous hours of study, testing, and continued education. In addition, Vickie served multiple years as an officer of the NKBA's LA/MS/AR chapter and president from 2016-2018. In short, Vickie is experienced and qualified, to meet you and your design needs.
Blake is the co-owner of Mireworks alongside his wife Vickie. Blake is involved in many aspects of the business. He provides architectural vision and direction and is our lead window, door, and custom mill-work representative. Blake has a vast knowledge of the construction, cabinet, and architectural mill-work industry. He began his career at the ripe old age of 13 when he learned to manufacture and install custom cabinetry at Calvin King Cabinets in Prairieville, Louisiana. Through the years, he has been heavily involved in the residential construction industry as he has worked closely with contractors, architects, and engineers in charge of all aspects of the building process. His 17 years at Highland Cabinets and Mill-works afforded him close relationships with premier architects and builders in the Gulf South. His study of Louisiana architecture fuels his passion for maintaining integrity of design in the homes he works on and his expertise provides a strong backbone to the team at Mireworks.
